En casa de mis padres siempre hemos tenido mascotas: perros, gatos, peces, tortugas... Soy más de gatos que de perros, supongo que porque mis padres- perdón, quiero decir Papá Noel- me regaló mi primer gatito cuando sólo tenía ocho años. Era tan pequeño que mi hermano y yo lo transportábamos de un lado a otro de la casa en el bolsillo de nuestros albornoces.
Creo que tener un animal cuando eres niño te enseña a responsabilizarte seriamente, tienes que ocuparte de una vida, no de un muñeco, preocuparte de rellenar sus cazos de comida y de agua, y tratarlo con cariño.
Aún estando embarazada, Juan me planteó tener un cachorrito, incluso después de nacer Teo. yo puse el grito en el cielo, porque la verdad es que ni me planteo tener un animal en los próximos dos años, porque creo que nuestra casa ahora ya es bastante parecida a un zoo. Pero cuando Teo entienda qué es tener una mascota, sí lo haremos seguramente. Por cierto, cuando estamos en casa de mis padres, intenta confraternizar con Simón, nuestro gato persa, todo el tiempo que puede. En este viaje, no sólo se conforma con acariciarlo, también intenta cogerlo en brazos, darle besos en la boquita, que coma de sus galletas y ponerle su chupete. Pobre Simón...
¿Tenéis niños y también perro o gato u otro animal? Si lo teníais desde antes de la llegada del bebé, me gustaría saber si se adaptó bien al nuevo miembro de la familia. Y creéis que es positivo darle responsabilidades a los peques siendo peques?
We always had pets at my parents's: dogs, cats, fishes, turtles... I'm more a cat person, I guess because my parents -oops, sorry, I mean Santa Claus- gave me my first cat when I was only eight. It was so small my brother and I were carrying all over the house into the pocket of our bathrobes.
I think having an animal as a child will teach you how to take responsibility seriously, you have to take care of a life, not a doll, worry about filling up their buckets of food and water, and treating it with love.
While still pregnant, Juan asked me for having a puppy, even after Teo was born.
