During the week I was not blogging, there were two special days marked on my calendar. I guess I didn't tell you before that my mom, my dad and my brother agreed to were born in May and all of them within one week. Yes, three family birthdays in just a week, that's why May is the month of the year I feel since forever as the one with family reunions and the moment to get those hugs and kisses I was waiting for so long. We can not always be together, but we try.

Two days after this post, my brother was the one blowing out the birthday candles, and five days later, my dad unwrapped his presents. Teo was lucky enough to be next to him and so was I to witness how the little man hug him with those chubby arms.

To remember here their b-days, I want to share these two photos, and old one and a new one:

Mi hermano y yo cuando éramos unos renacuajos...
My brother and I, so teeny...

And Teo holding my dad's hand while walking....

Feliz Cumpleaños a los dos
Happy birthday to you guys

Vivir en la Ciudad Eterna/ Living in The Eternal City

I asked Marina from Dolze far niente, for a writing about her experience living in Rome. She moved at the end of 2010, was not sure of going at all, and packed a suitcase so full of doubts she almost couldn't carry any dress. A year and a half later, the doubts have disappeared and have been replaced by amazing findings. Here's her story:

Casual Mondays

What did you do this weekend? Teo and I are at my parent's again for a few days. Since Juan has to take several airplanes these days, we took profit and took one too, to nice warm weather, the bluest sky I've ever seen with the sea sound as background. This trip is setting us very well after the ninjas attack which almost killed us, Teo looks so happy and I can't be more lucky, because my parents not just help me a lot taking care of the little clown but they are giving away some things so nice as the one I'm enjoying right now: yesterday, after spending the afternoon at the beach apartment they have by the sea, they convinced me for a sleepover by my own here, while they went with Teo back home. I'm still in shock! Some time for just me!!?? Wow, I even got nervous.

Once I saw them going away by car (and I confess that once again the minute I knew I was going to sleep away from my baby, I felt kind of a weird pressure in my heart... Oh, nature, why are you so tough on moms? You crossed the line, you crossed the line...), I walked by the sea and sat down surrounded by flowers to watch the sunset. This is something I really miss, having the chance to see the sun going down behind the sea always gave me lots of energy, and since that is the time Teo has to go to sleep, long ago I couldn't enjoy it. After that, I continued on my way home, and here I was working for a while, also took my time for some personal aesthetical needs, and finally I watched the last chapter of Desperate Housewives. All of it with an opened window while hearing the sea waves coming and going... Just the same "noise" I'm hearing at this very moment while I'm typing.

Slept through the night (woke up just once looking for Teo), and had breakfast on a terrace bar looking at the blue immensity of water. Such a gift my parents gave me. Heaven must be like this, an opened window by the sea.

Dreaming of Summertime #5: Where to take a good cocktail in Bcn/ Dónde tomar un buen cocktail en Bcn

Summertime is the best time to enjoy a good cocktail. Alhough we don't have to wait for Summer to come to take them, I'd say they taste better on a warm night, don't you agree? When I still throw parties at home on those b.b years (before the baby), I used to make mojitos. My friends always loved my mojitos, I guess that's because they're sweet flavoured, smooth and my friends can't barely notice the alcohol taste, but you know, I put a lot, and they finally noticed after the side effects. I have not taken a cocktail for a looong long time, pregnancy and breastfeeding dressed the part. And, honestly, actual no sleeping-nights are happening very close to Teo's crib and not at any trendy bar.

Last week, thinking of that, I asked some of my dearest friends here in Barcelona to recommend a cocktail and a place where Juan and I could take it one of these warm nights we decided to leave the forte. They are so cute they sent their cocktail-bar tips in a minute, so I really want to share with you too. Here they are:
